JASA will have a Origami booth at The Huntsville Museum of Art who'll be hosting Impressions of Asia Culture Fair on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day-long celebration will offer free admission and invite visitors of all ages to experience Asia's rich artistic traditions and cultural heritage.
The Culture Fair offers a celebration of Asian art and culture, reflecting themes also found in works on view in the museum. The event will feature live demonstrations from artists, including printmaking, calligraphy, traditional flower arranging, and performances throughout the day by Korean drummers and dancers, bringing dynamic music and movement to the museum.
Interactive, hands-on activities will allow attendees to explore Asian art forms firsthand. Visitors can learn the basics of origami, craft Vietnamese paper dolls, and try Chinese character printmaking. A collaborative “cultural passport” experience will encourage guests to explore all areas of the museum, while an interactive map installation will invite visitors to share and celebrate their own cultural backgrounds.
