"Coroner to the Stars", will be making its Southern Premiere in Birmingham as part of the Sidewalk Film Festival. The film tells the story of Dr. Thomas Noguchi, the pioneering Japanese American coroner whose name became synonymous with some of the most high-profile death investigations of the 20th century — from Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy to Sharon Tate and Natalie Wood. But beyond the headlines that made Dr. Noguchi a household name, it’s a deeply personal story of identity, resilience, and overcoming discrimination. As a Japanese immigrant, Dr. Noguchi faced extraordinary challenges working in post-war America and ultimately became the most famous forensic pathologist in the world. Screening Information:
